With winter vacation approaching, I’ve made a detailed travel plan to Beijing, the capital city of China. Renowned for its long - standing history, splendid culture, and modern vitality, Beijing offers countless attractions that I can’t wait to explore.
   　　My journey will begin in Beijing. On the first day, I plan to visit the Forbidden City, a magnificent imperial palace complex that once served as the home of 24 emperors. As I stroll through the red - walled courtyards and golden - roofed halls, I’m eager to learn about the imperial life and history hidden within these ancient walls. The Hall of Supreme Harmony, with its grand architecture and exquisite carvings, is surely a highlight I won’t miss.
   　　The next day, I’ll head to the Great Wall, one of the seven wonders of the world. I choose to visit the Mutianyu section, which is less crowded but equally spectacular. I imagine hiking along the ancient stone steps, surrounded by rolling mountains, and feeling a sense of awe at the incredible engineering feat achieved centuries ago. Taking photos against the backdrop of the vast wall will be a must - do.
   　　Another key stop on my itinerary is the Temple of Heaven. This ancient religious site, with its unique circular buildings and beautiful gardens, represents the harmonious relationship between heaven and earth in Chinese culture. I plan to spend time admiring the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and learning about the imperial ceremonies that once took place here.
   　　Food exploration is an important part of my trip. Beijing is famous for its mouth - watering cuisine. I’m especially looking forward to tasting the world - renowned Peking duck, with its crispy skin and tender meat. I’ll also try other local specialties like zhajiangmian (noodles with soybean paste) and baozi (steamed buns). Wangfujing Street, with its bustling food stalls and restaurants, will be my go - to place for these delicious treats.
   　　Before leaving Beijing, I’ll visit the National Museum of China. It houses a vast collection of historical artifacts that showcase China’s long history and cultural heritage.
